Right up there with Bowie's best. He never sang a better song.

I knew it was this song after just the first piano note. How about that for 'beat the intro'? ;-)

Agreed, but it was so much more than a detective series!

You good lucky guys that live on civilized countries, I hate you!!!{#Wink}
In my country TV showed only a few episodes of american version (OK, I liked and it was interesting (very), but I did not know it is a remake!!!!).

But now knowing what you've said (Bill´s too) I will try find BBC´s original on net (luck on me!!).
Thanks for the tip.

TV - Life On Mars - I watched both the UK & US.

I would highly recommend both.

Yessss!  I will never forget the concerts in the UK when David was in his Ziggy phase and Mick Ronson one of the most underated guitarists of his time rocked all of us.  Timeless!

This song became sort of new for me when I watched the BBC show, "Life on Mars"...which is, really...amazing television. I think there was an American version, but, the English show was compelling in ways that are hard to describe. It was as good as Twin Peaks....if very different...

Now, everytime I hear this, or Ashes to Ashes....my heart skips a bit....

Never heard this one before, being only a casual Bowie fan.  Quite like it, though - a 7.

Me too. I mean, it just seems like dumb music to me. But to each his own. As long as I don't have to listen to it. Will rejoin you all soon. As soon as this uber-ick is over.
