I've loved this artist for quite some time... get this thou, my daughter who has been in Iraq and Kasovo for a while (3 years) came home and had this album in her collection! We both thought it was funny that we both enjoyed this guy so much... although I hear him as a very great Neil Young, how Neil wishes he could sound like, of course thats just how I think ;oD

It's interesting... there is maybe only one other person I know who sees the incredible beauty that is in this CD, and it is my music partner. It must be an aquired taste... or maybe it just takes someone a little "off" to appreciate this.

Personally, this CD is SO rich, so full of honest emotion... the perfect companion for a long drive, especially if you're fortunate enough as I have been to enjoy that long drive down the California coast with someone you care about.

Sometimes the lyrics take over, but other times the meloncholy music comes to the forefront. All in all, this is definitely my favorite CD of the last few years at this point.

I think I will upload salvador sanchez and glenn tipton from this CD too.

For those who have found this song appealing, I can't recommend buying it enough... it really is that good of a CD, IF you like this song. If you don't like it, no problem, Pearl Jam is coming up in a minute or two.

Great CD! One song, Salvador Sanchez, I just couldn't swallow, but the rest of the CD I've listed to again, and again! Tiny Cities - Sun Kil Moon's CD full of Modest Mouse covers was really good too.

Be leery of the Red House Painters though. I was so excited when I bought this CD I got some of his earlier work, and couldn't listen to the cd more than a couple times.

I agree! I *love* his voice - melts me every time. 8

I love this album. If you like this and Carry Me Ohio, you'll dig the rest of the CD.

Yup. Mark Kozelek.

I was thinking it sounded like Jay Farrar. Which I suppose it does. But it ain't him.

Based on the last 5 songs in a row:

1) I think we just
2) did (as opposed to didn't)

I don't know about that. This song is definately moaned/whined. Not saying all of that is bad, or not signing, but come on.

This Album is great, But the New Album is Just Ok. Unless you have never heard of Modest Mouse before. Being an avid fan of modest mouse I do not like the new album because all it is is cover songs from "A Lonesome Crowded West". Though it is growing on me, it's not original.

BUT I STILL LOVE SUN KIL MOON!!!!

Very likeable - would be outstanding with a soulful female harmony similar to some of the best Neil Young songs.

I just purchased this CD a few months ago and it hasn't left my player yet. This tune and Carry Me Ohio are simply beautiful. Love it!

Man, I hate to bum out a few of the people below, but from what I have heard, I love these guys.

I would really, really love to hear someone making negative comments about this or any other song offer an alternative - what is it? Freebird? Smoke on the Water? Let us know where you are coming from.

From what I gather there is a Redhouse Painters connection? How about Jay Ferrer - sounds like him too. I know little about this band except what RP has played - and I wholeheartedly thank them for that.

Maybe next time someone will put the mike near his mouth. Or better yet - farther away. How dreary especially with the Guitar 101 strumming.

What a sensible voice. Fragile, full of emotion ...
