What's up with you guys?? If you don't like Tom Cruise, why do you watch the pic more than once? That way the film can't ruin any music for you.

Everything Otis touches is gold, but this song especially makes me long for what might have been if that plane had landed safely. He was expanding so much as a songwriter and arranger.

Feb 1968, Ft. Dix, first month of basic training. Brings back some memories.

Ha ha! What a good find: "Sitting in Limbo" first and now this! Both outstanding tracks.

There's a company on the road on the way to work called Michael Bolton Flooring Ltd. I wonder if they do good business...

I used to like this song, but I dunno anymore....kind ranks up there with Margaritaville to me....

Good to know I'm not alone in finding this song and Magaritaville as overrated songs that annoy me dues to being overplayed.

As the late Brian Jones said at the Monterrey Pop Festival, ''There's one act you never want to follow, and that's Otis Redding.''

Great song, great performance. Completely uncharacteristic of Otis's other work, of course, but it shows you how he was stretching out right before his death. Who knows what he might have accomplished in the '70's? Co-written with Steve Cropper, and it goes to show how he was stretching out, too. Not really Memphis soul, but then who quibbles when a masterpiece lands on your lap?
