Nice, a quote from one of my favorite movies... Dumb and Dumber. What can I say, I like simple and silly humor :) |

They got bored of their sound and wanted to try something different. I can't blame them for that.
But initially, I, too, couldn't handle the drastic change. It sounded so damn placid and adult-contemporary. Then I stayed away for a few months till I watched a video of them performing on KCRW. Their performance made me give that last album another sample.
I ended up buying the album, and for the last three weeks it's been playing heavily in my car during my commutes. Like this song's chorus, parts of the album are a little overdone, but in spite of it -- maybe even because of it -- I'm kind of drawn to it all.

Brown is the "serious" hair color, you know. Used when you want to emphasize your transition from "light" pop nonsense towards "serious" singer-songwriter rock music. Very much like Nina Persson of the Cardigans, aye (for further proof, look at Peter Svenssons Jesus hairdo). Or Madonna during her pseudo-goth period a la "Frozen". :) |

Actually, I liked them before lovefool was even recorded. The album 'Life' was fantastic, I listen to it often. But I do think this song really blows, as do most I hear from them now. This is played WAY too much on RP...

Can we hear something, anything from 'Life' or any other Cardigan CD but this one? They were so fun back then. It is a shame what happened to these guys, it sounds like a hundred other pop songes out there. It doesn't even seem like that same band! Sort of like when Shakira became 'Americanized' with her 'laundry service' CD. Anyone ever lesten to her before that? Amazing. After that? Pop ca-ca!

Yes, of course but it requires some work but I did it. They did a great live performance.
It may be some easier ways but here is how I did it.
1. With "Hidownload" I saved the ra-stream as a (.ra) file.
2. Converted it to (.wav) using "Mini-stream Ripper".
3. Edited all the tracks with SONY "Sound Forge 7.0".
4. Encoded all the tracks to (.mp3) using "WinLAME" in "alt-preset: extreme"-mode.
It sounds great with that VBR setting and Nina singin' :D |

I requested that Radio Paradise consider playing this album and Nina Persson's "A Camp".
Thank you so much for playing it ! :)
