Old Grey Whistle Test (see Iggy Pop video below), according to Wikipedia "... is an influential BBC2 television music show that ran from 1971 to 1987."  Note: Don't see why Wikipedia uses the present tense "is" when the show ceased to be in 1987.  Nor do I see any connection between the video and Mazzy Star's Blue Flower, except the double consonants and number of syllables in the artist's names.

Just doing my part for global enlightenment.

Geez - I don't think I've heard Mazzy Star in a decade!  Time to break out my CDs again for some reminiscing...

Never heard them before, so the power of reminiscing does nothing for me.  And on first listen, I have to ask what the heck there is about this song that makes it appealing?  Bad singing, heavy noise, monotonous tone...  so, what?

They're certainly not the only band who have been influenced by The Velvet Underground.  Not a bad thing, really.

High end buzz and distortion with reverb doesn't help this much.

Makes the clarity of the Kathleen Edwards tune after this such a relief for the ears.

Some people might think this hasn't aged well. But I'm pleasantly surprised I still like it. Yay Mazzy!

Totally unexpected rocker - quite the departure from the sleepwalk-through-the-night style of "Fade Into You."  I like this song a lot! {#Dancingbanana}

Yep, they even play the guitar part of "I'll Be Your Mirror" at the end to let you know.
