guess bill reads the comments, and has a wicked sense of humor.  the last song was Marvin Gaye's Hoidittruedagrapevine, and a commenter to that song posits that as long as we keep hearing it without a rest, it will be trampled underfoot in our hurry to live.  good one Bill.  why i keep listening to this, and reading the comments!

For what it's worth: I always thought it was about f*cking - utilizing car parts / mechanics as metaphor. Of course - I was only 15 yrs old when I came to that conclusion...

It's impossible to say for certain, but there is a distinct possibility that the lyrics may allude to sexual congress.

That, or Plant really, really gets into working on his car.

Seems pretty clear to me that he's comparing having relations with a woman to tuning up a car... {#Motor}

Yep. A friend says that LZ is the best Rock band, because the Beatles are, in fact, Mod.

How can anyone say that a single band is the best in any genre?  With Bill & Rebecca constantly exposing me to new bands it have given labeling something "The Best".

IMO!

Every time I hear this it brings to mind the movie of the dancing girls, Buzby Berkley stuff, that they played for this track on The Old Grey Whistle Test. Come back Whispering Bob.{#Dancingbanana_2}{#Dancingbanana}{#Drummer}{#Dancingbanana}

Spring 1975. I was 12 and this was their single. So Trampled was my first hearing of LZ. There are better and worst songs in their catalogue. Still Trampled remains as a special one for me...

This tune is very impressive. Good groove, great chord changes, and Plant singing like a madman. Perfect!
