If you look around, you can find a live Talk Talk album from that year. It's called "London 1985"

Unfortunately they did a bit of a 'Heaven's Gate' when making this record - they took forever, went way over budget and missed the boat in terms of keeping themselves in the public eye.

Have to agree with what you say, though, it's an absolutely brilliant record and you write really well about it {#Clap}

Cheers Tony99, thanks for the kind words. Their music has always meant a lot to me.

I Believe In You

(Mark Hollis / Tim Friese-Greene)

Hear it in my spirit
I've seen heroin for myself
On the street so young laying wasted
Enough ain't it enough
Crippled world
I just can't bring myself to see it starting
Tell me how I fear it
I buy prejudice for my health
Is it worth so much when you taste it
Enough there ain't enough hidden hurt
A time to sell yourself
A time for passing
Spirit
How long

One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Talk Talk were so far ahead of their time and have an outstanding back catalogue, particularly from Colour Of Spring onwards. A catalogue frequently copied, plagiarised and plundered with an influence that can be heard across Sigur Ros, Radiohead, Mogwai, Elbow just off the top of my head. This track is now 20 years old and is still as exciting and challenging as it was when I first heard it as a teenager. Mark Hollis is, in my humble opinion, an overlooked genius and I feel that both the band and particularly Hollis became the victim of an obtuse and unsophisticated music business. Bill, thanks for bringing them to a wider audience. I urge those that haven’t as yet listened to more Talk Talk to do so. Talent like this does not come our way very often.

I did. That was straight-to-the-bone. Had never heard this before. RP delivers again. Another purchase I would never have made.

Again a listener/uploader, Bill and Rebecca brought us good stuff. Without RP, I won't probably have not listened to Talk Talk again and purchased one of their CD.

If you haven't heard "Laughing Stock" - it's every bit as good as Spirit of Eden. I don't see anything in the RP rotation from LS, unfortunately.
