I gave this a 7, but most of that is for the song itself. It's one of the old Dylan's very best, from waaay back in his folk music days. It's been recorded by at least a gazillion different acts; I've never heard a bad version of it. I'm glad a new generation is discovering the tune and its genuinely timeless lyrics. You're right that it's a perfect change of pace number for hard rockers. Get your guitarist to put some kind of slow-hands, lyrical lead behind the vocal line and watch the piece sprout wings. Our guitar player brought this in for us to do and we have added it to our playlist. I had never heard it before, but it is a great song. It is a nice respite for a hard rock band.

Don't get me wrong this song is pretty bad, but not that bad!  I would like to see a contest for the worse song ever recorded, that Bryan Adams tune has to be a nominee! Actually the song is wonderful, this woman just should not be allowed to sing it is all. |
