I really like the singer's voice, very interesting.... I prefere this first record to the latest, even because I expected something mature from them but maybe airplay needed a fist of pop song.... they will grow up I presume

Ah ha! A band that can finally challenge Travis for the coveted 'Worst Band in the World' award, although I'm stretching myself to even refer to this collection of limp wristed ass holes as a band.

Thanks for playing this. This album has really grown on me, mostly because of the lead singer's voice.

I was thinking a happier and less interesting version of Radiohead, but at least it's not Massive Attack or Imogen Heap.

Maybe it's that they are such an anti-climax after the beautiful sequence of Massive attack and Imogen Heap, but I had to drop this to a 1.

Saw these guys play in KC last year. Inspite of the shimmering white belt of lead Keane, they put on a fantastic performance. Looking forward to their next record.

The more I hear of this band, the more I like them. This album is on my Must Get list.

A pox on those who rip samples from their betters!

... Okay, maybe "a pox" is overkill. How about just a bad case of psoriasis.

So THAT'S what it is! I knew it had me expecting an R&B track, and couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Still like it, although the revelation about prerecorded bass at their live shows is somewhat disturbing...guess they don't do a lot of improvisational jamming...

a damn good CD for driving, even though it's a bit on the "Pop" side for my usualy taste

I like the swelling vocals with the understated percussion (a bit simple though)...and the piano fits well. Cool song.

Not bad.

They say this band is supposed to be "Coldplay without a guitar" - perhaps. But it's still better than X&Y. What trash.

My favorite band of this flavor from the UK is Doves.

Good point. Bad choice of words on my part. I should have said that it reminds me of so many stories in my life, and every one of them about a woman.

saw them in London at the Wireless festival-- their 1st huge headlining gig, and a week before they played the same space at Live 8. They were really really good-- I had gone to see Supergrass, but Keane had the energy, sounded great, and were thrilled to be there. They blew them away.

Big sound for piano and drums.

Not sure I could listen to a whole Keane CD straight through, though.

Yes I saw them in NY they are totally awesome!!! They do not have an extra person playing Bass. The keyboard player records the Bass track ahead of time and they play that recording along with them playing live. One of ther roadies verified this with me...

Thanks..... yeah, I noticed this after seeing them at Coachella. Doesn't leave a lot of room for mistakes. They sounded amazing..... basically saved the day for me after Snow Patrol and the Kills.

Trivia - They used to have a guitarist but when he left they decided not to get another one.
