It rains in Buenos Aires and Piazzolla plays Ausencias. We miss you Astor, but you're still very present in this city.

This song make me stop what I was doing and break the silence momentarily with a simple "...Jesus Christ..." --haunting & gorgeous, like a slowly-wandering soul through time.

For some reason this song makes me start attempting to sing in largely madeup spanish words, and that's pretty awesome.

While one ordinarily associates Piazzolla with the bandoneon and a bistro flavored rendition of the tango, Yo Yo Ma cut this incredible album in 1997. Pretty cool if you have a chance to hear it.

This sounds like something one might hear while relaxing at a Parisian sidewalk cafe sipping cafe au lait.
