interesting how they're suddenly everybody's favorite band to love to hate.

my only complaint is that the new stuff sounds exactly like everything from Rush of Blood. it's like somebody said below --- Coldplay covering Coldplay. time to start trying to take a few chances with your music, guys...

Is it just me or do all the new Coldplay songs sound exactly the same? Couldn't say that about Parachutes.

I actually like this. I'm kind of ambivalent on Coldplay overall, their stuff we hear here doesn't do all that much for me. Not bad, but... But this is good.

Sounds like The Church to me, too.

At first I thought it was U2's "Two Hearts Beating as One," but it's not bad...

I've been a bit on the fence wrt Coldplay after really enjoying their first disc... but I'm liking the cuts from the new CD. Sounds like a fuller guitar sound in the mix. U2? ok.. I could see that... but reminds me more of other 80's bands... like the Church and Chameleons.

I wouldn't go so far bad indeed this song is even worse than the result of copying themselves. TO THE LYONS!

Wait...does a band being over-rated automatically make them bad?

You don't have to like them, per se, and maybe you really do hate their music, but to give them a 1 simply because you feel they get undeserved good press/responses is both childish and illogical.

I'd give it an 8 but the guitar lines run too close to U2 - so it gets a 6.

It's impossible to escape Coldplay at the moment! They are played on every radio station. It's getting tiring.

How does an 8 sound?

That is a good question actually. An 8 sounds like Badly Drawn Boy, like any of the classics (Hendrix, Morrison, Joplin, the Beatles), like Good Vibrations, like Frou Frou (even though this song is becoming all to common), like Miles Davis and Quincy Jones, heck even some Tom WaitsÂ…really the list could go on.

They are consistently great, aren't they? Looking forward to hearing the whole album! Managed to get 4 tickets to see then at the ACC in T.O. on August 2nd. Sold out in 2 minutes!
