This is so quirky--but I like it. Kind of like Belle and Sebastian.

Am trying for a tactful description -- without using the word "banal" or the word "blathering" -- and it looks like I've failed already.

Someone said he is devoutly christian. I wonder if some of the lyrics are about spiritual awakening? ("You came to find us, all things known, all things known). Just wondering...

The sense of celebration in this song is just overwhelming at times. It causes little rushes of energy from my toes through my chest radiating out through the goosebumps all over my flesh. I shit you not, it made me cry while I was driving the other day, tears of pure joy.

I've heard it once, now, and, that being one time too many, I agree. Yuck.

Right, the Grateful Dead comparison is odd, to say the least. Say what you like about Sufjan, he's definitely different.

That's what I usually say about Bob Dylan, Emmilou Harris, Joni Mitchell and that shower of "artists"

By my estimation, the song is playing about every 2-3 days at most. Ever listen to the radio? The song has a high rating...what should Bill do, delete it?

Excellent tune.

i love it, have heard a couple cuts from the two albums and I can't resist its infectious nature, plus it seems to actually not be empty fluff, that helps.
