Saw these guys in Boston last week - they were great. The Soul Rebels opened and joined Galactic for a few tunes - a major horn-fest. Definitely a fun party band - they had the House of Blues packed and dancing...

No, it's not "completely ripped off".  It sounds very similar and is obviously influenced by that tune and many others of that era, but it's a different riff.  This kind of a groove is an homage to that era of music - they're even mimicking the keyboard and fuzz sounds of that time.  They're not trying to deceive anyone - especially not the astute music detectives here.

...sounds way too uniform for real hi-hat pedalwork; i think all the drums in this track are machine-programmed...

Always have my ear out for songs to keep me motivated whilst riding the bike on the trainer in the garage.

Add another to the list with this.

How wonderful to know that someone else loves that band too!  Bill has a couple of his songs on here, but they don't get much play (and the audience doesn't really react that well).

Did any Columbus RPer's see this band at Newport this past Saturday (4/12)?

If so, how was it? I almost went.
