No, the original is much better. WAY better. Not that this is bad, I like it. But I will now be signing off to listen to the original. |

What an excellent and totally different version of a song I wouldnt have believed would work this way. But then I would never have thought David Grey would get away with singing Soft Cell.

Don't like cover versions...though she's got an interesting voice.
Likeable anyway...

Three covers exist for one Buzzcocks song? Why not "Everybody's Happy Nowadays"?
While we are at it, why not Oh Shit and Orgasm Addict. Let's get back to basics. |

Scarier for me, as she looks my estranged wife and the lyric describes the scenario. |

I'm afraid I disagree. This version catches the feeling of the original. Shelley's song is about the pain of naturally falling in love with someone who can never return that love, because they are not gay. ("We can't stay together much longer; Unless we realize that we are the same")It's not angst; it's pain.
Yorn's and FYC's version never captured that. This version is beautiful! Three covers exist for one Buzzcocks song? Why not "Everybody's Happy Nowadays"?

My sentiments exactly! This song needs to have angst, like the Buzzcocks gave it, none of this wimpy "ever fallen in love...?" sappy crap... Sorry!

Very listenable, a la Smells Like Teen Spirit from Tori Amos. A nice pause, but the original is the way it's meant to be.

I wish I could give this negative ratings. It's flat lounge music. And it's a cover. So that leaves nothing on her part.
But I do like the original, a lot.

Yeah, was covered by Pete Yorn on the Shrek 2 soundtrack. Not a bad cover. |

Just bumped my rating up from 6 to 9 because
a) it is a Buzzcocks song
b) hadn't heard it for a while here and spontaneously went, "Yeah!" when it came on.. that must be some kind of litmus test.
