Love this song. I'm surprized it's rated at only 6.5. People's taste in music is endlessly variable. Sometimes it's because of the associations.
For me, this conjours up memories of Michelle Pfeiffer in Tequila Sunrise blasting down the California coast in an Alfa Romeo Spider . Beautiful woman, cool car, fun movie, great tune.

Excellent but not their best work.

One of the best STUDIO (!!!) bands around...
but this does not confirm that!

Bill and Swine-flue?

5,6,7 terrible songs in a row now!

The usual undiluted genius. A throwaway song of theirs, no less.

I love everything going on in this song: the guitars, drums, vocals, lyrics. Beautiful.

Ah, ha. Great road trip song.

The original version from the Ricky & Pete soundtrack is better, though.

Cool! Didn't they play this song over the closing credits for "Short Circuit 2"? Or was it "Over the Top"? Heady days!

It's from the Tequila Sunrise soundtrack. Great movie.

The guitars and their layering has a very "Big Country" sound to it. And then he starts singing it and it evolves into the Crowded House that I love.

This one is new to me. And that's rare.

Crowded House are reforming. (click here)

They gave a 2-1/2 hour webcast last night (Windows-only, Internet Explorer-only ) from Peter Gabriel's studio.

I saw them a handful of times as the original trio, and miss the love for them that I had then. This was something that, in concert, was a joyous romp. It might not translate to the studio cut the same, but on stage it was perfect pop.

An example of differing tastes in music, I guess, based on previous posts. This has always been one of my favorite tunes from CH and, for me, is as close to a perfect pop song as any I've heard. Easy 9 or 10.

I am a big fan of the House, but this is uncharacteristically droning and monotonous for them. Not liking it.

Huh. I didn't even know this song existed. It's certainly not on the CH best-of album, which is called . . . Recurring Dream.

Sadly, I have to agree although I couldn't bring myself to be quite as harsh on the rating.
