Love this. Can't help but bounce around the room when this song is on. Astonished by the curiously low ratings from so many listeners.

Anyone who grew up in the Boston area saw J. Geils at least a 1/2 dozen times.  When you are in your teens/early 20's party music was what it was about!  Saw them perform over the summer at Fenway with Aerosmith.  The Wooba Gooba (?) brought it all back.

Ending is reminiscent of Crosseyed and Painless by Talking Heads. I didn't realize how similar they are.

The 45-rpm single for this didn't have the long jam at the end. Or should I say, the second half. Goes on a bit too long.

The LP was printed on translucent blood red vinyl.

Context (w/ statistics): Campground at Morro Bay. '61 Chevy (a beater with no head-liner but a brand new Craig 8-track mounted on the transmission hump). 25 watts and power to spare. 4 high-school guys with beer obtained from a ‘buyer' 90 miles inland. All 4 doors hanging ajar so that the sounds flow freely from the 8" Jensens mounted in the rear deck. 16-oz magnets? Bloodshot is brand new and it's cranked up for that organ solo. Sheet metal rattles. Singing "GIVE IT TO ME" and smoking Swisher Sweets. We have the power now. Let's get to the beach and find some women...

Reliably banal J. Geils crapola.

If Joe Jackson wasn't talented and couldn't write lyrically and started a mediocre rock band where they all performed in dirty underwear...this is what it would be like!

 The J. Geils Band,
in the late 60's or early 70's saw them twice in Athens, Ohio loved them.
If you're not in party mode you most likely won't get what's happening!

Well, yeah, loads of teenagers really liked this when it, and they, were new. But, for all the praise I read here, the "jam" towards the end and the really dynamic drumming remind me why I never saw much in this band. If you were into getting really loaded to loud and raucous sounds, this may have done the job. But, the technical proficiency in the percussion work seems remarkably amateurish.

Especially if you are exposed to real drumming. It's only rock and roll, but that does not mean that it cannot venture beyond the hackneyed. OK. I likely have pissed off legions from the Boston area, among other places.

The jam at the end and drumming is the bed for the harmonica to take off on and let the rest happen.  Its like two seperate songs fused together.  Sure like the second half, it gets me over the first half.

Full House, recorded at Cobo Arena in Detroit was indeed a great "live" album.

This is so much better than their Freeze Frame era poppy crap.  It's still nowhere near as good as the condensed badassery that is their Full House live album, though!  I can forgive them for going pop and making some money off it, but only because that album is so darn good.

You may not like this, but I wouldn't classify it as "mullet rock".  I think of mullets generally being preferred by listeners of "Southern" rock (e.g. Lynyrd Synyrd, Molly Hatchet) or classic rock stuff like Foghat or Ted Nugent.

Saw them at the Centrum in Worcester, MA for a great 1980 New Years Eve Concert. It was a phenomenal night and show.
