I worked a show with Neil Finn back in 2002 or so... he's a VERY nice guy. Amazing show at a small club. I feel priviliged to have worked with him. This song is a solid '9' for me.

I'm not sure I see what you mean by dated. It sounds pretty fresh to my ears. |

This song is like waking up on a beautiful summer morning with the sun shining outside. Just makes me feel good all over.

As much as I love this song, the production sounds dated now. (Argh, I hate Mitchell Froom!) The song is awesome live, though, with the audience singing harmony vocals.

Begged for my first radio on my 6th birthday. So, I beat you by one year at least. I agree with your appraisal of this CD thoroughly! |

I bet thats an awesome feeling, looking back at your wild youth spent on the rolling surf of Cornwall. Now your a middle aged dude with a Renault Espace with 3 kids, and that dreadlocked beauty that used to sit next to you in the old renault 5 has turned into an overweight, nagging, bore in the passenger site of the Espace, shouting wrong directions at you.
Priceless! It is a gift that just keeps on giving. |

For a few years now, Jesse Cook has been closing his shows with an unplugged version of this featuring Chris Church on vocals, Jesse on guitar and everyone else on handclaps and background.
It's quite a cool thing to do in a hall that can support the un-miked voice.

Why does it always have to be about wrong directions and dreadlocks?

And why is it always the wife who's nasty and fat? I've seen plenty of hubbys who have let themselves go, and they get directions yelled at them 'coz they don't want to admit that THEY'RE LOST!
Just venting... |

While I was not born when you started listening avidly to pop music, I doagree with you that this album is wonderful. Definitely a desert island album. |

OMG... that had me rolling. I was giggling at overweight and nagging, but shouting wrong directions had me on the floor. As someone who can't tell left from right, I thoroughly appreciate the care it requires to follow my directions and realize there's a point when the tolerance ends. |
