Yeah Kids! Did you just hear what Bill said. "This is the original. Santana COVERED this song."

For my money, generally the older the Fleetwood Mac, the better

Bare Trees is a great album, but by a very different band from the Peter Green days.Anyone likes that line up should investigate Future Games, which is even better.Danny Kirwan was a great guitar plaYER TOO,WITH AN INSTANTLY RECOGNISABLE TONE.hE'D HAVE BEEN A REAL STAR HAD HE NOT BEEN IN THE SHADOW OF THE BEST BLUES GUITARIST WHO EVER WALKED THIS EARTH oops,caps.Sorry.
As of an interview with Fleetwood and McVie circa mid 90s."Peter was the best"Interviewer"The best in Fleetwood Mac?""No he was just the best"

Agreed that Peter Green is "The Man", and Danny Kirwan was excellent also, but how come you left poor Jeremy Spenser out? Kiln House rocks too.

To think this band once had THREE very fine guitarists!

Funky, bluesy. A whole different perspective on BMW! What with Santana's version emblazoned inmy memory, I don't think this original will ever replace Carlos' version, but it is awesome to hear the history revealed. And, it stands on its own as a great foray into FM's art.

How is it possible that I've lived all these years without knowing that Santana did NOT write Black Magic Woman?? Fleetwood Mac? Ok.

Really, cool - I'll check that out. See if it matches up to the awsome guitar on 'love that burns'. What a tune that is.. Hmmm... Maybe I'll upload it if it's not on here...!

Love That Burns has sublime guitar playing.
Any of you guys like the sound of this, should check out Live In Boston 1970.Cd1 is the best Live stuff I've EVER heard from ANYONE.

BTW I saw F Mac in their heyday and I saw The Splinter Group. It was lovely to see Peter on stage again, but apart from one or two flashes,it just wasn't the same.It was pretty bar band standard.Superior bar band, but still bar band.

Saying Santana is crap is unthinkable. Whether you like him or not, he's one of the most respected guitarists in the music industry.

Santana's version is a cover huh! Next thing you're going to tell me is that he lost the Mexican-American war. No Bill I won't heed your need for attention.

Thanks for the education today. I had no idea this was the original! Sort of like when I found out that Tito Puente wrote Oye Como Va!

Shows what a slacker cover band Santana really is!

You're right about Splinter Group. I have to disagree with your comment "nowhere near as good". Check out Splinter Group's Destiny Road. Excellent! Very bluesey, just like the original FM.

He's back. Nowhere near near as good as he was, but still pretty bloody amazing. Can't remember any of the 80's and 90's apparently. Gave all his money away too..

His new group's called 'Splinter Group' (I think). Check it out.

Ahh... Fleetwood Mac - so good before Green spun out and their wives joine in.

What ever happened to Peter Green? IIRC, he went off the deep end a la Syd Barrett.

By far this is the superior version. I'm a Santana fan, but Peter Greeen's attack on the guitar is pure bliss.
