I will be able to buy him a drink and thank him for the endless pleasure he and his band have given me over the years.
Hurrah!
Please buy him one from me, too. We all owe him a debt of thanks for the wonderful music he has given us. |

Always liked this group. Maybe it's time to invest in a tune or two.

I know this is supposed to be a seminal album; lots of people/bands cite it but to me it's still just a mess. Oh well. Don't care for the sound of the vocals either. 5

One of my favourite albums. About time we heard some of the other tracks though. How about the final one? It's a cracker.

LOVE Talk Talk — always have. The singer's voice gives me chills because it's so evocative. "Life's What You Make It' is one of my all time fave 80s ballads.

Funny, but perhaps that is not what a lot of young (perhaps your age) felt when the covers of a lot of 80s songs, namely Talk Talk's 'It's My Life', came out in the air again. Now, don't get me wrong, what I am just trying to say is that the sound of the 80s (pure, recycled or otherwise) CAN be enjoyed almost twenty years later, and NOT trying to imply that, just because it got aired again is good. I am done with the old "all the 80s music is trahs" cable TV discourse. That you do not get it, fine, it might be a matter of taste, which is understandable, but certainly these guys, among a few others, were putting some good tunes those days. |

Great band, stunning album. Still listen to it now and again and I still marvel at the production perfection - still sounds better on vinyl though!
