Elliot Smith's cover of this song....fair representation of a Beatles song by an avid fan.

Wonderful, although I think that the a capella version from Anthology is perhaps even more beautiful. The three voices alone in harmony is amazing.

You *do* realize that the fact that you don't like Bela Fleck does *not* render the first quoted sentence untrue, don't you?

It's a crime to follow Bela Fleck's version of "Michelle" with an actual Beatles cut. The implication would be that Fleck is an innovator who has something unique and valuable to say about the Beatles. But I can't stand Fleck. While I do appreciate a bit of Beatles to wash the Fleck taste from my mouth, it would be better if you'd never fed me that bitter, bitter herb in the first place.

Can you believe that, John himself, just hated that song...
This means he could be wrong sometimes.
Miss you John...

'Course, your navy buddy was wrong. That only applies to egg production in the female.

But you're right, although I can't think of ANY performer whose career has been put "on haiatus" by death. Except maybe Tupac, who seems to keep coming out with new material.

With any luck, they would have let Yoko sing. Or hired Stevie Nicks. Maybe a Gwen Stefani collaboration?

Face it -- no way the legend would loom so large today if they were still playing. (cough cough-ROLLING STONES-cough cough)

It doesn't get more beautiful. It's not rock... it's music.

Can you believe they recorded this while they were fighting and on the verge of splitting up??

3-part harmony times 3. It's on Anthology 3. John, Paul & George's vocals were recorded once and then overdubbed twice more by the three Beatles in isolation. 9 voices.
