First of all, this song is not special enough to generate a thread based on its lyrical and musical content. The word "Holocaust" will always be evocative. It is also an industry. Look at all the Holocaust movies. Spielberg has made millions... |

IIRC, "anti-Semitism" is a term that came into use during the 19th century when Jews were the only people of Semitic origin in Western European societies. So yes, it's a misnomer. |

Here is a more clear way of looking at it:
If a Chinese person, who for example is Budhist, changes their religion to Judaism, then they would be Jewish only in terms of religion. However, this person would never be "a Jew". Likewise, if an ethnic Jew believed in Budhism, then they would be a Budhist by religion but still a Jew. So yes, you are correct that "Jewry" is an ethnicity, and it is very confusing as to why some Jews will not accept this. |

Jews are not a race; At least in theory, that was the main argument against UN resolution 3379 that "determine that Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination". In practice, however, it's clear that resolution 4686 - which revoked the former - was due to the crushing success of "desert storm". Look at how many Arab countries didn't bother showing up for the vote out of fear. So if Jews are not a race, I can't be a racist, right?
All Arabs are of Semitic heritage. Being an Arab myself, I can't possibly be anti-Semite.
Now, in retrospect, I understand that I got carried away in my previous post (which doesn't belong here in the first place). Sorry about that everyone.

People are jailed for questionning the magnitude of the holocaust (click here), yet freedom of speech is invoked when inflammatory cartoons of the prophet Mohammed are published (click here).
Next thing you know, we'll be told that taking the lives of a thousand innocent civilians (and the infrastructure of a whole country) is proportional to that of two jewish people.
Oh, wait ... nevermind ...
