Wished he had opened for Guster this summer; he pulled out of tour the week before I saw them & replaced later by Nada Surf (which i guess offers a different vibe)

Very haunting tune. I like it, especially the interplay between quitar and violin and LaMontagne's breathy voice.

Well I looked my demons in the eye
Laid bare my chest said do your best destroy me
See I've been to hell and back so many times
I must admit you kinda bore me
This song is perfect - and this part for me conjures up John Constantine. |

Well it's the hurt i hide that fuels the fires inside me |

I am loving his voice more and more . . . he sounds like Richie Havens to me, oddly enough.

One of the most beautiful and raw pieces of song writing that I have heard in a long time!! Outstanding!

In this case ''Ray'' is short for ''Raycharles.''

Everything from the lyrics, vocal presentation, orchestration... Down to the pick-attacks on the strum patterns is perfect.

I hear the vocal similarity, but Fogelberg was never this emotionally raw. |

WOW...Again!
Poetry with the weepy strings. Reminds me of Fishermens Blues a bit...."When ye go away" ...maybe

I have heard this song a few times on RP, and each time I hear it I like it more and more. His voice just fits this song. I hope for his sake he does have good days.

This is good, but Three More Days is an 11. You'd have to be dead to deny the soul in that song...

After I hear this song I just want to savor it for a little while longer. Like when you eat something tasty and you don't want to brush your teeth quite yet and ruin the feeling.

Another case of Radio Paradise serendipity, first time I listened to this I browsed on over to Ray's web site, find that he's playing nearby in a few weeks. All ticketed up now. That's Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Neko Case and Ray to look forward to over the coming weeks.
Thank to RP for playing such great music.
Some folks have all the luck... |

Hope not. The majority in this country seems to have god-awful taste!
Sorry I missed this song - stupid customers! (; |
