You're right, I was created exclusively to eliminate this awful song from the Radio Paradise playlist and I will not stop until my mission is accomplished. Join me or be destroyed! Also, I have never smelled a troll... I felt-up a garden gnome once, but that was in college.

This song may be one of the worst songs ever recorded, with the possible exception of "Come Sail Away" by Styx. It never ends. Both World Wars combined didn't last as long as this song!

Please stop playing this song - its not that good.

I suspect that the majority of people who are against the current war don't want us to lay down our arms and surrender to all comers. That's the neo-con pipe dream about moderates and liberals.

This song is just a reminder that war really is hellish for those who actually fight (as well as those left behind) and that most soldiers hope for peace. I think that's a pretty noble sentiment. When you yourself see the blue star of a parent, sibling or child turned to gold then perhaps you'll understand why I love this song.

I wonder if the enemies of freedom listen to such enlightened music? You know, people who fly jumbo jets into sky scrapers, kill millions of jews while annexing half of Europe, oppress the other half in half a century of communism.

Derek, You've already made it clear that you hate this song. But I bet Bill will be more than happy to tell you that NOTHING gets played on RP "every..sigle..day". In the meantime learn to use the mute button. Bill clearly likes this song and so does a significant portion of RP listeners (see the ratings).
And . . . I've listened a lot--several hours a day--for two-plus years and have never heard it until tonight. And I like it.

Weird, I somehow intuitively knew by the first two bars this was a Carbon Leaf song without ever having heard it and without looking at the artist.

For nearly a decade, Americans let them torture and kill thousands. I realized then, we should never let it happen again. Sorry.

Yes, Auschwitz cannot be understood and may be it never will. Presidents and those
politicial men/women
who are going to "fight for peace" MUST go there before they
submit their "go".

I've just come back from a jaunt in the States and was quite saddened to see that Rembrance Day has been warped into Veteran's Day.

The meaning of Rembrance Day, a moment of silence on "the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month"; "the War to end all Wars" and "Lest We Forget" completely thrown out to push a comtemporary agenda in a new modern war. All the things that Rembrance Day is telling us to not repeat again or fall for.

I'd prefer you didn't lump all of the United States into your experience. I don't know where you were or with whom, but Veterans Day is as important and solemn here as anywhere else, and not less because our citizens have died in conflicts beyond the Treaty of Versailles.

So, this song isnt that bad. Shure, its not a love song or a
song dealing with interhuman relations (as about 88,88% of all
pop/rock songs ...)
Ever heard about Barry Mc Guire's Eve of destruction??
Also not that bad...
Coolness and quality must'nt be the same...
but in modern times its nearly equivalent, especially for you young ones...

Poignant and necessary. Particularly germane over this side of the Pond as we've just had Remembrance Day.

Wow, there are some really vituperative comments on here. I think this is a pretty good song, with a good melody. And you can dance to it. OK, kidding on that last bit. But I was serious about the good song part - not sure I want to hear a song about death and destruction every day, but it brought a tear to my eye so I am glad I hear it this once.

I think I would have to listen to this a few more times to get the lyrics because on the first listen, I can't get past the voice... sounds like the lead singer from the Crash Test Dummies.
