You know, Prince gets a lot of grief, but he really is a talented musician. When someone does a remake like this, you realize how simple the song is, and frankly, this remake is _BORING_. It's dull, repetitive, and talks more to what Prince added to this song rather than the strength of the base material.

It's not bad, it's just... boring. I'll take the original over this anytime.

This could possibly be the worst thing I've heard on RP. :puke:

We need negative ratings available to outweigh the trolls who made up user IDs just to bump the overall rating.

i'm not sure how i feel about this. i like hearing a cover of this tune but the original is just so good that when held up to it rating this becomes difficult.

One thing going for this song: it keeps popping into my head, and not in an annoying "get it out!" way.

Sorry to hear that so many folks dislike this version. I think it's great.

I can't say it's the best use these voices have been put to, but I don't hate it.

Hmm, sounds like faint praise. I guess it is--I expect the BGTs to transport me to other musical realms and lighten the dark corners of my psyche.

Next!

That was a good era for music, too. And you really ought to hear the original Prince tune. It's a good'un. BillG plays it occasionally.

I did actually enjoy it, Bill, didn't know they had a new album so had to go get it! This particular song likely won't be a favorite, but definately not a 1!

meh - would rather hear the original any day, but I've yet to hear Prince on this station, except for I took too long to finish this though, and now I have to eat my words.

I think I like this one better than the original. Even though the original will always be classic.

I don't find it as bad as everybody is making it out to be. I am going to stand up and give it a 6. This has a interesting sound. I like stuff that is different, just so its not bad.
