Just in case you can't get enough of that Shamisen and the guy going Eeeyoooo!

And if you watch the video why would Japanese need Japanese sub titles. |

Echoes of Dead Can Dance in the chorus as well. There are quite a few influences in here that can be teased out, including the Japanese background as an earlier poster pointed out. A nice bit of modern Goth. Sends a chill down my spine right enough, and makes me want to reach for the garlic... 7 from the Nottingham jury. |

How can you not love taiko drums? If you ever want to see guys with real 6-packs (ladies too) you need to go no further than a Taiko drum troup
I actually remember seeing a guy hitting the big drum (using drum sticks that looked something like sticks of firewood) who had probably an 8 or 10 pack
there is nothing more powerful than a good Taiko drum troop
This song captures a hint of it, I like it ... needs more bass drum though

Very tedious. Sounds like some guy is being tortured in the background, maybe she's forcing him to listen to this track.

Yes, that resemblance is there in the percussion and the tonal center in the beginning.
Bingo! |

The background is actually quite traditional japanese taiko music, largely unchanged since times old. I love it, but I could do without the dull, flat singing in english on top of everything.
