I've listened to this album so many times, it feels weird not to hear the opening lines of "Stop your Sobbing" next.

THIS SONG ROCKS!!
I guess "Precious" is a little too over the top for RP, but if you're looking for a great rocker off album #1, this will sure do in a pinch.
NOBODY looked cooler at the dawn of the 80's than Chrissie.
However, I'm always saddened looking at that album cover. The two guys on each end checked out way too early...

I can't believe it, segway into the next awesome Pretenders song on the LP; am I in heaven?
I saw the Pretenders in LA at the Troubadour in the 70's when this album came out, they blew everyone away...

Anyone else hear Falco or maybe Falco was Channelling Chris? This also has those great bass runs ... I like this very much.
Thanks Bill for the Pretenders Run!

Just saw them open for The Who awhile back - she can still rock! My favorite Pretenders memory was from 1983 - my buddy in the seat next to mine in the second row got hit in the head by Martin Chambers' drumstick, which he launched into the crowd. My friend was bloodied, but too drunk and happy to care :)

How good is a song when you still LOVE it when you can only decipher about 30% of the lyrics. Now THAT'S Rock & Roll!

Pretenders, twice in 6 hours. How often does RP play anything twice in 6 hours?
In this case, I can deal with that!

No album ... *NO* album ... completely hooked me as quickly as the first Pretenders album. From the moment I heard the first two lines of "Precious" I felt that these guys were something fantastically special. ROCK ON!

I think I remember this playlist from a while back. But what I want to comment on is that Bill is playing a "double shot."
Back when I had a college radio show (KSPC - Claremont Colleges), I played Punk Chunks. |
