Dig this track. Sounds like classic Bruce, and it's great to hear something like this come along again.

I've never liked what is considered to be "normal" Springsteen music, and always liked the stuff reviled as pop drivel. I expect that's why I like this.

Great, his voice gets better as others get worse.

Bruce does Bruce. Right from the start you know that guitar's gonna be Bruce. Love it. Couldn't get tickets for Belfast. Sucks. |

Maybe that's why I like it - normally, not a big fan of "The Boss"... |

Still, I like it anyway. |

This is the cat that used to be called "the handsomest man in rock n' roll".
I don't know about that, but he does look pretty good for pushin 60.

I really like this song, and I've never been a Bruce fan. The photo on the cover of his album kind of says it all. Annoyingly mythic.

yeah,i wasn't a bruce fan growing up until i bought tunnel of love. it was so different from his blue collar stuff. eventually i checked his back catalogue and while i don't like everything, there's a solid body of work there.

It seems like there have been some very nice covers including "born to run" "born in the USA" "asbury Park" |

You know, you might want to give this a chance. Many times I've heard news albums by artists I love, and I'm left scratching my head at how songs from such a reputable artist could be so boring... I mean, these are albums like "Breakfast in New Orleans..." by Bruce Cockburn, "Afterglow" and "Time on Earth" by Crowded House, "One All" by Neil Finn, etc... I've learned to wait on the songs a bit, because sometimes it takes a few listens to really catch what's going on. I think this might be one of those cases. Anyway, just a thought!
Very well put! I try not to "knee jerk" react, especially to music! |

Gotta give the guy credit for continuing to evolve: this sounds nothing like Devils in Dust which sounds nothing like Born in the USA which sounds nothing like Born to Run...he might not be the greatest vocalist, but he sure knows how to keep his fans entertained. Quite likeable tune.
