Thanks for saying what I didn't have the words to say. I'd like to add something relating her to Barbara Streisand as well, but I haven't had enough caffeine.

Maybe she should sue Massive Attack, being the "Real thing"? And I always thought Coca Cola was the real thing. Or was it Pepsi?
Man, this world is too complex for a simple man like me.

There is a lot to explore in this music, even more to feel.

I bought this album on the strength of this and another Azam Ali song played here, and I can strongly recommend it. It sounds so much 'bigger' on a proper stereo system rather than on PC headphones with 128kbps MP3. Stunning.

Thanks, Vandal. Still, it's an important word (being both vaccine and cure for xenophobia), so it should be broadcast correctly!

Pop should eat itself.

I do always think this is Inertia Creeps when it starts up. Very similar drums, middle eastern instrument (samples?). However, I don't think this is a Massive Attack rip-off. Robert Del Naja did not invent middle eastern sounds nor did he invent breakbeats.

That said; Inertia Creeps is the better song of the two in my opinion.

I agree, it is rather some "Zeitgeist" Coincidence ...
And you are right, RD Naja didn't invent the breakbeats. It was Peter Schmidt in his musical lab in Oberbayern. Working on variations on bavarian Volksmusik he accidentially invented the breakbeat. But not knowing what to do with it, and not seeing its world-changing potential, he sold it to a local rastafari. The rest is history.

And yes - inertia creeps is the better one.
