Even more annoying: I am mostly deaf in my left ear. No hearing bones and no ear drum make me experience sound on that sound quite differently, and this song triggers my instinct to turn my head to the left to better hear the singer constantly.

So I pan this one more to the right than usual.. {#Eh}

Hmm, well, turn your earphones around. You know that will work for a single song. {#Cheers}

As a mastering engineer, I agree that panning the vocals to the left speaker 100% is a big mistake. When you listen with headphones it is unnatural and disturbing (you NEVER hear sounds ONLY in one ear when you aren't wearing headphones).

  Exactly, and not in the music, but in the graphic arts department.

I'm glad there was a discussion here about this - I was sure I had finally busted one of my 10-year-old speakers.

This wouldn't bother you too badly if you are listening to speakers.

Otherwise... it's a pretty nice song.

Interesting. Do you think artisits have a good reason for oing so, or are they just trying to have a gimmick?

Me too -- I logged onto RP just to find out who was imitating him! :)

This fellow's a little too slow for Chris' style, though.

RE vocal in one speaker, you're not imagining it. I heard vocal in one speaker only as well while streaming from my phone into my car stereo. Thought it was a loose connection tho all the rest were OK. Just listened to it in iTunes and vocal's in both speakers.

Same feeling here. The Interweb tells me it's actually Tim Thompson on guitar.
