This sounds so great!!

Saw them play in Milwaukee last week. For this tour, the first set is the entire Hazards album.
It was a completely mind blowing performance that gives great perspective on the album.
Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond completely stole the show singing the parts of the Queen. (and later in a cover of Heart's Crazy on You)

After they finished playing the album, they came back out for another full set plus encore.
They even pulled a lot of us on stage for the closer (Sons & Daughters).

i love long songs like this that sounds like more than one song...others like this that come to mind right at the moment are "the next messiah" by Jenny Lewis, and "depression suite" by the tragically hip....{#Hearteyes}

Jeez i thought this song had ended 3 times already.  Do they get paid by the chord or something?

I always groan when this starts because it's so long, but then I always enjoy it. Go figure.

This medley (is that the right term) got me to buy my first Decemberists album.  Great sound.

Shara Worden's vocals on this album are amazing. I like My Brightest Diamond, but she blew me away with her work here.

Well, favorite album so far. I realize we're only into June.

This is my favorite album of the year. Hands down. I think it's their best yet.

Is this song marked correct? I looked it up on YouTube, and the song there is just 30 seconds long.

(This is the song with female vocalist, right?)

Can't understand the negative comments. It's a great series of songs from a great record. It's best appreciated when you can listen to the whole thing from start to finish. Beautiful songs, poetic lyrics and an interesting story. Overall, a very lovely album. I give it a 9. Looking forward to seeing these guys this summer.

I don't think it sounds like Jenny Lewis' The Next Messiah at all. Which, btw, I'm seeing her live tonight as well. I guess some people just have no appreciation for what's good. {#Tongue}

Bill, don't listen to them. Just keep playing lots of Decemberists and Jenny Lewis!

Oh dear sweet mother of god, this is horrible. When did the Decemberists become a cross between Renaissance and Emerson, Lake and Palmer?

The only thing I dislike about this tune is the distressing initial similarity between it and that horrid Jenny Lewis Moosiah song.

Awesome! Thanks RP for playing these songs as a medley!

I love this band, and their new album is just great. I love the female voice as well (Becky Stark from Lavender Diamond, lovely band...I'd check them out if you love her voice).

This is an excellent album.  I resisted listening to it despite the urging of my wife because it's the sort of album you have to listen all the way through, in order.  It was worth it though.  For anyone's who interested there's a attempt to decode the whole story in here:

Now I have to listen to tracks 7-17
