That comment doesn't really hold up for a couple of reasons.  To start with, Muse makes it clear they are not interested in making political statements, even if some of their songs may have political undertones.  But more compelling, the time lines doesn't add up.  They began writing this album in early 2008, before Obama had been elected.  Given that, if it is intended to be political, it is probably more of a response to the Bush era "Big Brother" policies such as the government's increased use wire tapping and researching people's personal lives through their library records and movie rentals.

Slowly i get into this music. The more i hear this, the more i like it. Saw them the other day in TV live concert. That was really amazing!!
