Um, okay. I like this. It has that octave-separation bass that hits me for some reason. I think Client's "Lights Go Out" would be good after this - same type of rhythm. I read "1984" in school, and promptly forgot it. I guess I'll have to trot it out and re-read it, with Muse in the background. |

It's actually about 1984 (the novel that is not the year...) see below somewhere... This song's message is what's making it rocket to the top, but the talent of these three is what makes it something we want to listen to. Watching it live is another world. .. a really rockin, loud and motivating sound. .. this world's rulers are very corrupt and the message here helps us tolerate living under such corruption —> because we can sing about it, move to it, move with others and enjoy complaining! :)

Until this morning, I hadn't heard this song on RP. Given how repetitive, monotonous, and dirge-like the song is, the resemblance to the Dr. Who theme song notwithstanding, I'd prefer to have remained unaware that it had intruded on better music. I will have to admit that it does sound slightly better coming out of the defective speakers I've connected to my computer than it does on the speakers at work where I hear it far too often.

I think I'll watch "Moulin Rouge" tonight... this song reminds me just a bit of its version of "Roxanne," which I prefer.

Muse = Mute. More of that kind of repetitive that I just can't handle. Too simplistic or something. And even though I hit mute within about 4 seconds, I already am battling it's awful earworm! |
