I love that this crazy song exists, and I love that this is probably the only place I would ever hear it. Bravo.

Love both of them, but this tune turned my stomach around. Never before has a song accomplished that. Thank heavens this song is followed up by Arcade Fire. Now my stomach is getting better.

kind of lame..wish they had redone the vocals ..sounds like the cheesy remix that it is, below both artists IMO

It's funny, Heart of Glass is so funky and fast and fun, so this sloooow cover gives it a distinct wistful sound, that melancholy somehow feels right for a reinterpretation.... so thumbs up from me, I wouldnt want to listen to it a lot, but it is AFFIRMATIVE of the right place for nostalgia and looking backwards

I hated the song. Now, I hate this mix - to quote Richard Thompson: "A meeting of great minds! How nice! Like Einstein and Sporty Spice..."

Fascinating. The perfect tension between harmony and dissonance really works.... I'm not a fan of either Blondie or Glass, but this is very cool. Not that I would listen to it very often or anything.... But what a unique experience. |

Bill,
I love what you do but, honestly, this thing with Glass has to end. Really. his work is like Chop Stix on luds. It's childish. And this mix is just an abomination of a dynamic pop song. Get over the Glass thing.

I was working away and heard the piano. Fine... I heard Debbie Harry singing. I started laughing. I knew this HAD to be Phillip Glass only because the Blondie song was Heart Of Glass. I checked to find that this was, indeed, a great musical pun.
It's amazing how well they come together, too... Fitting together so well, breaking into dissonance, then coming back. Thanks for playing this. There's no way I would have heard it anywhere else.

I really like it. It reminds me of Philip Glass' album, "Songs from Liquid Days", where his music was matched with lyrics and/or vocals from Linda Ronstadt, The Roches, Paul Simon and others.

Interesting, then bit boring, then horrible, then I got to quite like it. No idea what to rate it! Only on RP. Keep surprising us (-;

I don't like the original Blondie version, but I like this version. What little Phillip Glass I've heard I've not liked.

Some things that are good separately should never go together. A horse and cabbage, curry and custard, beer and wine, and now Blondie and Philip Glass. This was appalling from the very first bars, and an immediate 1 from the appalled Nottingham jury. Who's put this dire concoction together? It can't be the idea of either Philip Glass or Debbie Harry, I'm sure.
