The piano theme that sneaks in near the end is very reminiscent of another song, Springsteen I think. Can't place it. Anybody?

Did someone die? Why so retro? Can we take it up a notch? My office is getting depressed.

Why country music works: An opportunity presented by the beautiful premise of this song and it's excellent musical hooks would be turned into a canvas for storytelling. A celebration of the most ancient of communication arts manifested as a small opera.

Not that the minimal, interpretation-generous structure of this song is anything less than pleasant and interesting. Just that it could be epic.

I'm delighted to report that this song sometimes get lost in my mind, that is, stuck in my head.  There could be much,much,much worse songs to get stuck.  I'm liking it a lot.

Heh, our local college station played this the other night. I immediately Googled lyrics, added it to my amazon wishlist, and texted my BF how much I liked the song. Kinda Mumford-y. Now my fav eRadio station is playing it...I love technology {#Whistle}

Cool piano playing...  this sounds like it should be a song from the 1960's...  interesting...
