I have seen Alison Krauss 3 times in concert and every time her voice makes me cry.  She is beautiful.

Her voice hits me in some visceral place - it makes me shiver and vibrate (pretty embarrassing in public, so it's a good thing I'm usually alone when I listen to her...) She and Patty Griffin do that to me.  Amazing voice, and with Union Station as backup, how could she go wrong?  I understand, now, why Robert Plant chose her as a partner-in-crime. A perfect balance.

Perfectly executed.  As old as the awareness that we have hearts that can be broken ...

I don't what exactly happened during her lenghty hiatus with Plant, but this is the first album that I've been able to detect some emotion in her delivery. She's always had an amazing voice, but one IMHO that was removed from what it was singing about. No more. I read below that this is a break-up album. Well, that'll do it.

This CD could challenge 'Sea Change' by Beck for Best Breakup Album.

The same ratings issue is happening with the Tame Impala song that RP plays. I hope Bill looks into this soon.

Update - Bill G. found the problem and fixed it. Thanks Bill! {#Notworthy}

She's awesome. Pretty song. Something looks funny in that average rating...It can't be under 6.0 with that distribution....

Correct! I get 7.4. It's a conspiracy!

Thanks RP, this is a wonderful album! Alison and the band are in top form. As usual, it's a melancholy album (Alison seems to love those sad songs) with stellar playing and vocals. As good as Alison is, Dan Tyminski shows he is also a superb singer when he takes the lead. The highlight for me is the cover of Jackson Browne's 'My Opening Farewell'  This will probably be my favorite album of 2011.  {#Music}

Saw them last week at the Greek Theater in Berkeley CA. They were great, sound even better live. Dummy me didn't realize Jerry Douglas on the Dobro was part of this band. I became acquainted with him from his solo track played on RP. He adds soo much to the band, he's the star of the show after Alison.
