I'm blown away by this new album. On par with anything (and everything) he's done in the past. To be compared to so many greats is huge honor ...I would say......I quite like this one ....ALOT! |

Weird as weird can be. But his latest work is quite interesting, admittedly.

there's some Nick Drake here somewhere - understated greatness - he needs to release an album every 6 months

Seeing some interviews with him I get the impression he is willing to try anything musically to see if it would work or not. Most times it does to certain extent. I really like some of his stuff other bits not so much but I do appreciate the talent. I do like what I heard off this album.

Looks like the stint with The Raconteurs did his songwriting some good.

I thought the same , closer inspection reveals a vulture like bird sitting on his shoulder. SinisterDexter wrote:What the heck is that cover photo? Looks like he's wearing a bonnet, standing in front of an electric power substation?
Interesting music, though. |

almost grateful dead-like - can't quite get the song in my head, but it has a similar melody line to a dead tune. i'm liking it

I've heard a couple of tracks from this album. It sounds really promising. I can't believe his range. |
