this song is really awesome... how'bout some other stuff from the white album though? like dear prudence or sexy sadie?

the anthology version is pretty good, too...

I'm old enough now that I've heard this song and practicly every other beatles song enough to last me the rest of my life. All you beatles fans own everthing these guys ever recorded anyway, why not listen to the recordings by yourself with your other old dusty things and leave the rest of us to explore something new.

It's funny - you can see on the distribution chart for this song that some people rate it a 1 just to be contrary. No one rates it 2-4.

Actually, if you put the arrow over each histogram column you will see that some people have in fact voted 2, 3 and 4
Not sure why tho'

This is one of the damnedest things I've ever seen. The guy plays this song on a ukulele with speed like I've never seen that instrument played. Check it out:

Well not quite a 10 perhaps - I'm a hard marker - but certainly a 9. An absolute classic - that still plucks at the heart strings in a big way.

*sigh* I miss George...my favorite Beatle. Must be a hell of a jam session in heaven...

I miss him too. He was so special. I think this must be my very favorite song of all time.

Favorite Beatles tune. Gotta admit I'm surprised it's so highly rated here.

I also love the version on Concert for Bangladesh where George and Eric Clapton jam together.

Maybe, but that concert is basically unlistenable. They threw it together and it sounds like it. I felt bad for Ringo forgetting the words to his own song. Look for my LP box set on eBay!

Attn RP: The rating box is broken; "12" is missing. Please add it so we may rate songs appropriately. Thank you. :)

One of my very LEAST favorite Beatles or George songs. Its just incessant. The rythm is annoying. The tone is depressing. The lyrics are just odd. I'll take One After 909 over this one.

Yes, along with the jam session of Here Comes the Sun on that same fabulous set of disks. I've looked over and over for this on cd everywhere - since I don't own a turntable anymore. Suggestions on where to find it anyone?

Amazon has the CD "Soundtrack" available. DVD is out of stock. You should also check out the "Concert for George" on DVD. Great guests playing in tribute to the late star....

Damn....I really didn't know EC did the lead on this. Well...that explains lots. Just could be my fave Fab Four song too.

The way I understand it, the first cut he did, sounded very Beatleesque. They told him they wanted Clapton, not the Beatles. So he proceded to do his thing and this is the result. Great tune.
