Eddie, from the neighborhood, would tell us, all the time, that this song was way better than "Born to Run". I had never even heard "L.A. Woman". (Eddie had older brothers). Today, I get as excited about hearing this as I do Born to Run. Both - Way Cool!

Definately up there. Manzarek and the rest of the band really nailed this one. dwhayslett wrote:This rocks. Must be something else that hasn't aged well.

DAMN right, LA Woman sounds as fresh now as it did when I first heard it over 20 years ago; they knew how to go out on a high dwhayslett wrote: This rocks. Must be something else that hasn't aged well.

Jim, Ray, Robby and John - what a band. L.A. Woman, last album with Jim was one of the very best they made. Was this a great way to go?

Jim Morrison at his self-indulgent worst. And that's pretty bad.

The best thing I can say to that is that you should probably start reading some actual poetry.

This is an absolute masterpiece of rock and roll.
It's not poetry. It's rock and roll!
Somehow you're both right. Go figure. Exactly what I would say Mango. I can add that this is one of the best songs for cross-trainer exercise - a real killer. |
