Doors music is like Vogon poetry.

Can't agree with ManBird because hard to actually know how God feels and "hate" is a such a strong word, but it is a pretty darn tedious tune. Waiting for it to get over with mute engaged.

This is bad even for The Doors. Does this dropdown menu go to negative numbers?

tis intentional amp distortion with a plain old electric organ. Synth it was not.
That is a big part of what makes this stuff so ground breaking.
What folks today use a Moog and computers for, bands like the Doors used settings on regular instruments to achieve.

Not the Door's best by any stretch of the word, but still very listenable. 7

I used to listen to a lot of Doors when I was younger, but as I got older, I lost it, Morrison's music just is not that fulfilling, not to mention that since learning about his personal life, it just washed away any respect I had for his stuff.

You must also dislike the Beatles, the Stones, and just about every other group here on RP.

That aside, I rather enjoyed seeing
The Doors, with Val Kimer as Mr. Mojo Risin'.

On the other hand, seeing Ray in concert a couple of years ago with Roy Rogers was a real turn-off. I go to concerts to hear music with an occasional anecdote—not to hear a bunch of personal political and pseudo-religious beliefs being thrust on me. Thankfully, the venue promoters comp'ed me a couple of tickets to another show of my choice. (This is in no way any reflection on Roy, whom I've enjoyed seeing twice alongside Norton Buffalo.)

Yeah. I just get tired of hearing people say they loved Beck till they found out he was a Scientologist or that they loved Melissa Etheridge until they found out blah blah blah. But asking people to get over their small-minded prejudices is like asking them to stop breathing. But yeah, to me it's like saying Leonardo would have been brilliant if only he'd been straight. A funny parenthetical: The recent speculation that the Mona Lisa is actually a self-portrait of the artist as a young man (in drag). !!!! Which makes me love that painting all the more. Portrait of the artist as a young woman. :)

I don't LOVE the song, but its interesting to me to hear Ray playing synthesizers... if you squint your ears a bit, you can hear some much more modern acts predicted here.

And as far as liking Jim Morrison and the Doors, I never did until I was introduced to American Prayer.
