One need only compare the Janice version of "Piece of my Heart" to the recent cover by Faith Hill. If that comparison doesn't explain why Janice Joplin is a great singer, nothing will. A human soul crying for love vs white bread and mayo. But Faith Hill sure does look good

This is probably my favorite Janis tune. I'm not a huge fan of hers, though I've always appreciated the way she gives it her all. This song's sentiment always inspires me!
