Had the vinyl when it first came out. Instant heart-throb! Still love it, the whole album's strong,IMHO!

she's come a long way, gone thru a lot of changes, but she's always been brilliant. apparently, she was in the studio, and someone walked past and, hearing her sing, commented that he couldn't understand a word she was singing, but, man, it was some beautiful.

Rickie is a perfectionist, saw her last weekend at SF Jazz. She didn't quite like what her band was doing to a number and made them play it from the start. Love her!

Gets a +1 boost for happy memories of listening to my mom's LP as a child...

I like the song because I love Lowell George so much.
I assumed she was covering it, but I just discovered she wrote it.
He covered it.
She's been around for a while I guess.

I disagree - it's a story song that's delightfully wicked. The way the thing progresses from two women trying to rip off a guy to the guy flying out the door with their "easy money," and the subsequent cat fight... Oh, it's great.  And I agree - she does it right.  Always.{#Bounce}

Very true. I saw her live in Denver during the PopPop tour, and she blew me away. {#Roflol}

Rikki Lee Jones does nothing for me either. My younger sister had some of her albums back when they were vinyl and played them a lot when we would be partying at her place.

I always wondered how a young, good looking white girl would try so hard to sound so much like an old black heroin whore.

Of course I don’t like blues much as a genre, ain’t what I call rock’n roll. {to borrow a line from Dire Straights}

BTW I guess you might say I am a potbellied boomer. Going bald too.

Well, she is that, she wasn't trying. She has white skin, an an addict's soul.

Though I can appreciate the original, Lowell George did a much finer job.
