I guess I would enjoy this kind of music more if it would be played during the day my time. But since the real wild and nervous stuff is always played after 10pm our time. RP just hasn't got my nightsound. It has thow the perfect daytime-sound for us. Here in Zentral Europe. Too bad. It would also be great to have a PSD Button on the RP-App wich I am using to listen to RP over the sonos System. But I dont have a possibility to skip Songs like this that really spoil the Atmosphere with a glass of wine and the Fire in the Cheminée,

Other than that. love RP! ;-)

Much as I like the Chantays' version I grew up with, I like this as well or more. But then, there's not much SRV I don't like.

Sorry, but my Winter English is not that good to understand you.

Just in case, please check that you don't mix Serbia and Siberia...

But I know that song is bullshit.

Surfing?

This song makes me think of oil and natural gas pipelines. And the fact that y'all will be driving lots and lots this summer.

The romance of the open road, eh?

What a shame that he's gone. But he left a wonderful legacy. Surf on, Stevie!

Whoa- another time machine. 2nd song I ever played on a guitar (Ventures of course). Bill, I'm surprised Joe Weed's The Vultures with David Grisman, Norton Buffalo & others isn't in your playlist. Great instrumentals from 50's & 60's.

Feckin' brilliant segue from Peter Gunn. Just love those clangin' Duane Eddy-style gi-tars, boy. 9 from the Nottingham jury, volume up to 11.

Amen to that.
I think Dick Dale was playing on this cut as well.

This first appeared as a Dick Dale ("with Stevie Ray Vaughan") composition on the Back to the Beach movie soundtrack. Dale and SRV are both such masters that on something like this, it's hard to tell who's playing what—tho' that bridge is pure Stevie. The song shows up later on Dale compilations (like last year's Guitar Legend: The Very Best of Dick Dale) as well as on the SRV compilation that Bill used as the source here. Fortunately, Dale is still around to tell us who played what. Anyone care to ask him?

Sorta like EC.

Daft, Yankee.  First, they are called 'standards' and Second — Pride and Joy, Life by the Drop, The House is Rockin — where were you when he was rockin Texas? On the other hand - he may have gotten famous singing like Doyle Bramhall Sr.
