Hey Bill!

How about the Howard Devoto song by this title? - it kills!

Wow, I remember this, it's Seattle's theme song, yet, Seattle people cut through rain like a warm knife through butter.
Even in a down-pour, Seattle folks look like they are walking through a light mist...

Maybe these rain-theme songs will be the juju we need for some rain here in NorCal. We need it, badly.

I love how Bonnie Raitt is able to appear on a track like this and not upstage the main artist.  That's a true pro.

I love the rain-related song set - it's absolutely pouring here right now.

Good to hear something from him besides Walking in Memphis.
Ha! When I first glanced at this, it looked like you wrote "Wanking in Memphis", and I couldn't agree more. This is much better. A very professional musician with peerless production and wonderful backing. Manufactured and packaged soul, but sometimes a fast food burger really hits the spot.

This is pretty high praise in a land walked by Giants.

Thanks RP for turning me on to this (and many other) song(s).

Even if that is true, that doesn't mean it is very good.

I can't past the cheesy pop production. I have a soft spot in my heart for Marc Cohn - I bought his first album and this one too. But it is hard to listen to this song now without wincing a bit.

Sounding almost like Leon Russell - and what do you know - Leon Russell (It's a Hard Rain Gonna Fall) is next in line.   Bill - how do you do that - its just brilliant.{#Whistle}

Sounds like she's playin' a little slide too. Sounding good it's got that Little Feat feel.

I'm pretty sure that Bonnie Raitt is singing background in both songs. Coincidence?

This is good, first I've heard of it. Strikes the that, if Joe Cocker could sing, it might sound a bit like this.

I wouldn't say "puke," but it's sorta ho-hummy bluesy. The music is good, but I think that the vocals are a little melodramatic.

EXACTLY. This song is entirely deserving of its luscious production. 90s bluesy pop was never done better.
