Terrific song from a terrific album.  This one and Astral Weeks are probably his best.

Yep he has always had a reputation of an ornery old Irishman, but what great music!

there was a rad jazz pianist named ferdinand 'jellyroll' lamothe (morton)...in the wayback days. morrison refers to jelly roll in a few of his other songs..more of a "sexual reference"..but here since jelly roll is capitolized on the lyric sheet it probably refers to musician and thus  his effect on morrison .......I'm 100% certain that I may or may not be correct

I cannot bring myself to rate this song, because I probably can't be objective.  I used to love Van Morrison, and I suppose I still do, but several songs off this album are just played to death.  Years ago, it would have been a "10" for sure.  Between RP and my local alterna-station (hey, I haven't figured out how to stream RP in my car yet), I hear something off of this album two or more times a day.

That's just too often for me.
