I agree as well. Some Girls is a really good album compared to the other crap the Stones have churned out. |

This reminds me of a certain DJ in Chicago who used to talk about dancing to this song like a white boy.

"While at the Monterey International Pop Festival, Brian Jones (yes, the perpetually stoned Stone, who was alive at the time) admonished other acts to never follow Otis Redding on stage because they will suck in comparison. And so Bill makes the Stones follow Otis on RP! Priceless... Now Playing: Rolling Stones - Beast Of BurdenOtis Redding - I've Got Dreams to Remember " Just had to hoist this comment from the previous song on the playlist........... |

Good Song from a great album.
Also one of the three songs that the Stones played when they first appeared on Saturday Night Live in 78'

I"m afraid I agree. This was always a throwaway song for me. I do love the tightness of the music - the band was very much in-the-pocket. Unfortunately, that pocket was a color that clashed horribly with my basic black. (And I fear I'm starting to sound like Stingray as far as nonsensical comments...) |

Oh man, there were quite a few altered consciousness evenings with my friends, singing all these songs out loud. KBW, I'll never forget your version of this song! Never, NEVER, never ever be!

kazuma wrote:The story on the changing covers from Wikipedia: The album cover for Some Girls was designed by Peter Corriston, who would design the next three album covers as well. An elaborate die-cut design, with colors varying on different sleeves, it featured The Rolling Stones and select female celebrities in garish drag, as well as a bunch of lingerie ads. The cover immediately ran into trouble when Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, Raquel Welch, and the estates of Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe threatened legal action. It was withdrawn and the offending pictures removed.

I'm a near-all-around Stones fan, but I downright object to this song. It would have been a better fit on that (2-Marginal) trashcan of an album Emotional Rescue. Wonder if Respectable is on the playlist. |
