Song remains relevant and poignant here in 2013 given the continued high levels of unemployment and general economic malaise we are enduring.
But then again, I really like Peter Gabriel...

Would have been OK (just) if Kate Bush wasn't singing.

This is the only Kate Bush I've ever liked. That shrill voice of hers works well against Peter's salty vocals.

yippiiiieee! peter was here, in Stuttgart, yesterday!! (and me, too, that is :-) i was not sure before if a whole concert with (only) a classic orchestra would be working, for me, but was completely amazed how good it worked. especially songs which seems very strange to perform this way - like INTRUDER f.e., yes: "don´t give up" (which is NOT my favourite pg song) was included in the set-up yesterday. , with his daughter Melanie doing the "Kate Bush" vocals. very moving version... although, the undisputed highlight was the absolute breathtaking, powerfiul version of BIKO (in my opinion one the best "political rock songs" of all time)
And the eyes of the world are watching now watching now
although pg did not make a lot of "new stuff" the last years, he ist still one of the best rock performers around here.
i saw him for the first time on April 2nd, 1975.. one of the very last concerts he did with Genesis on April 2, 1975in 1975, performing "The Lamb lies down on Broadway" omg how long ago is THIS!!
