Excellent, Pink Floyd and RP, no words.

Listening mindlessly while researching on the 'net when this came on.  Full stop. Go bring up RP and listen, read, listen.  Creatively superb. What PF created demands one's full attention. I may not always agree with the attitude, but they make one listen enough to get their point.   {#Think}

As much of a life-long freakin' Floyd fan* I am, however, I just never cared for this album. For me, those years where Waters commandeered the group (including Animals) are a loss.

I can't agree with you at all... ESPECIALLY Animals.... Can't imagine Floyd without them

This song is the core of the Wall's story.  This album offers the listener the chance to experience a chapter in the life of a mentally disturbed person, who also happens to be touring as a professional musician, and then finally has a break through just as he's having a total nervous breakdown — that concept is interesting in and of itself.  You can see the music as incidental to the story, or the story as incidental to the music, but either way, the result is a timeless work of art.

Just saw Roger Waters perform The Wall live a few weeks ago.  Outstanding show.  After the line "Mother should I trust the government?", the words "no fucking way" appeared on the wall.  It drew wild applause from the audience and stood out as a highlight of the show.  It was an incredible experience to be sitting just 20 rows from the man who wrote this awesome, moving, timeless masterpiece.  I'll never forget it.

Saw Roger Waters perform this at the O2 arena last year and it still made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.  What a song, what a band, doesn't get much better.
