As comfortable as an old woolen sweater on a chilly afternoon, and a simple — but strong — love song.

Thanks Tom,  for years of excellence. Campbell also deserves kudos. You are a purest and a large part of the history of R&R.

Forbert's 1979 album was Jackrabbit Slim, but yeah.

Have you listened to Mojo? Tom's new album is as good as any stuff he has done in the past. Well worth checking out.

All right! I love playing this game.

You can add: Elvis Costello - Armed Forces, Joe Jackson - Look Sharp AND I'm The Man, Dire Staits - Communique, The B52s - The B52s, Cheap Trick - At Budokan, Police - Regatta de Blanc, and all three acts of Zappa's Joe's Garage.

I like Tom Petty...but...based on the amount of TP I hear on Radio Paradise, Tom must be a blood relation. Although the new album is very good.

I've seen TP & the HB's many times over the past 20+ years and they are always incredible.  The last time was about 2 years ago with Pearl Jam as the opening act - dynomite!

The best  I ever saw was in the mid-80's when they toured with Bob Dylan.  The Hearbreakers were the opening act and played for about an hour and a half.  Then they came back out as Bob Dylan's touring band and did over 2 hours with him.  Unforgetable!

They took that tour up another notch by teaming up with the Grateful Dead for stadiums in the Summer of '86.  Petty-> Petty/Dylan->The Dead->Dylan and the Dead. Fantastic.
