just keep listening and Bill will "school" you, as they would say in rural Georgia (US... not that one in Europe).

I say the same thing about all of the European and English music that I have been introduced to on RP.  Porcupine Tree, Elbow, John Martyn, The Staves come to mind quickly.

Bill and Rebecca do such a marvelous job.  There's no place like RP !

Robert Levon Been from BRMC is the son of Michael Been, singer of The Call.  I saw them play this in December and it was awesome (like the rest of the show)!  They also just released a recording of it on a new EP which you can download for free from their website.  It will also be on their new album coming out in about 2-3 weeks.

What's more, The Call will be reuniting for a couple shows this year with Michael Levon Been of BRMC filling in for his late father!  So far all I've heard of is two shows in April - San Francisco and Santa Cruz, CA.  Definitely going to try to make at least one of those!

I remember KMET!  When I lived in Oregon in the 80's, I used to be able to get that station on my radio, and apart from KINK in Portland, it was my station of choice. Ah, the good old days.  I wonder why so many radio stations are going belly-up? Our local KOYT (Coyote FM) started in 1995 as the closest thing to early FM radio as an entity could get. I, and a bunch of other enthusiasts, were providing our CDs for uploading to their playlist, so we got to hear Jesse Colin-Young as well as Jesse Winchester. It was the first time I'd ever heard Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion" segué into "No More, No More."  I first heard Gregg Allman's "Come And Go Blues" done live and acoustic. It was my station of choice.

Coyote went from amazing rock music to current hits heard on any generic station to "classic" rock. Now, it's something with no music whatsoever - like a Larry King talk-radio show. I don't know why this happened (well, I have my suspicions, but can't prove anything), but it breaks my heart. I had a LOT invested in that fledgling station, and I really wanted to see it survive and thrive.

Sorry. Long, stupid story. It was the mention of KMET's demise that brought back memories of a better time... I am a very large, sentimental dork.

Miss you so much, Cynaera...

love this song...

I was reviewing the recent comments and wanted to say I do love this song.  I love the energy of it.  I know that it is over the top but in a way that works for me.  As always, my appreciation is tinged with nostalgia.  However, I wish marcc had not put a number on my nostalgia to remind me of how old I am.  TWENTY FIVE years ago?  Jeez.

This is the song I want to be roused from sleep with, because it's positive, energetic, and pretty powerful.  I love it. It would probably cause me to leap out of bed. (The next scene would be me crouching in pain because my knees refused to acknowledge the positivity of the song, based on their age and infirmation , and sent me to the floor.)

Still - this is a very invigorating song, and in a few weeks, I'll be able to leap out of bed, do ten push-ups, stride to the kitchen and mix a strawberry/banana/flax-seed smoothie in the blender, toss it back, and tackle the day like a soldier off to war.

Yeah, this song just does that to me. It might be the death of me, but if that happens, at least it wouldn't be the death of me because I was sprawled across the davenport of despair (to quote the late Warren Zevon.)

I frellin' LOVE this song.

Love that sentiment. Does the same thing for me.

Agree.

Same as to the passing of all, Cynaera, Warren and Michael.  Being sentient has its rewards, but also its drawbacks.

Such a completely over the top rock anthem, that it's practically a parody of itself. Never has a song screamed so loudly, "Someone make a beer commercial out of me!"

The Moody Blues "Ride My See-Saw" fades into the "Let the Day Begin," a classic by The Call.  Damn, Bill, you is good!!

Reconciled was one of my favorite "Tapes" back in the day. I flat wore it out. I think I upgraded it to CD before it went out of print...need to dig through the stacks tonight and pull it out...
