This is a good trippy song from a very good album. Just a  moment in time...and poof it's gone...you'll never see it again.

Excellent song from an excellent album.  He showed a slightly different side from his days with the Band.

Produced by Daniel Lanois and featuring Tony Levin (on slinky, "Don't Give Up"-style bass) and Manu Katché on drums!

Very good sound, great production. I love how the drums are recorded.

When I saw the video and realized that it was a man singing the line "Somewhere Down the Crazy River", it blew my mind. But I did not learn to love it later.

One of the first CD's I ever bought... they were still rather new then (at least to me...) and I couldn't believe the details my ear was hearing.  Now everyone's running back to vinyl!

At the time, after a few rather vapid years of mid-80s music, this was so far out and different, and it just seemed to come right out of nowhere, and it sure took us all by such sweet amazing surprise...and I must say that I still like how it sounds, and LOVE all the memories and ghosts it stirs up for me, especially now that I'm back on the old stomping ground... Thanks, RP for so often seeming to know exactly what to play and when!

It still stops me every time, but not because I want to go find myself a copy. I think I'm a little horrified at the Pendegrass-esque talking.
